Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to what patients ask us most. For anything else, just WhatsApp us.

What does a comprehensive eye check-up include?

Vision testing and computerised refraction, a detailed slit-lamp examination, eye-pressure measurement, and a dilated retina check when indicated. We take the time to explain what we find and what — if anything — needs treating.

How do I know if I need cataract surgery?

When a clouding lens starts interfering with daily life — night driving, reading, recognising faces — it's time to discuss surgery. It's a day-care, small-incision procedure (phacoemulsification); you go home the same day. The right time and the right lens (IOL) are decided together after a detailed evaluation. Our IOL guide explains the lens options.

Is LASIK painful, and how long is the recovery?

The procedure itself is done under numbing drops and takes minutes per eye — most people feel pressure, not pain. Mild irritation or watering for a day is common; most patients are back to normal routine within a couple of days, with some precautions for a few weeks.

Am I eligible for LASIK, SMILE or ICL?

It depends on your corneal thickness and shape, your refractive power, and the stability of your prescription — which is why we do detailed corneal imaging before recommending anything. If LASIK isn't safe for your eyes, alternatives like SMILE, PRK or ICL usually are. Read our eligibility guide for details.

How much does eye surgery cost?

It depends on the procedure and, for cataract surgery, the lens you choose — options exist across budgets. After your evaluation you get a clear, itemised quote with no surprise additions. WhatsApp us with your reports for an indicative range.

Do children need routine eye check-ups?

Yes — children rarely complain about poor vision, and problems like lazy eye (amblyopia) or squint are far easier to fix when caught early. A check before starting school, and yearly if they wear glasses or spend long hours on screens, is a good rule.

Do you see eye emergencies and walk-ins?

Yes — eye emergencies are seen during clinic hours (Mon–Sat 10 am – 9 pm, Sun 10 am – 2 pm) at our Ghatkopar East clinic. If something feels urgent — sudden vision loss, injury, severe pain — call or WhatsApp us first on +91 81045 98019 and we'll guide you.

Not sure where to start?

Send us a quick WhatsApp with your concern. We'll guide you on whether you need an evaluation, and what to expect.
